William and Bronwyn Marques cycled from Canterbury to Rome on their Dave Yates Wayfarers in summer 2007. The trip is approx 1,900 km, plus the distance from their home in Hertfordshire to Canterbury!
Diabolo in Denmark........ A Dave Yates Diabolo, built in 1991, restored
to its former glory after a re-spray in 2007. "The frame has a LOT of memories connected to it - I've raced against (and been humiliated by) Henrik Djernis, Michael Rasmussen, and Steve Peat on it. It's the bike I rode in the Dark Peak area (which I miss like hell) until I moved to Denmark. I have tried a lot of bikes in my time and it's been the bike that has stayed in use longest and it's had a lot of kit fitted onto it. I've had the option of some very tasty MTBs during my time with Heino Cykler and my previous employer, Jupiter, and none of the mountain bikes have been able to bear the comparison." David Bouch
